18" Red Ribbon

Tail and Forelock ribbons are a quick way for the rider to tell others that their horse has special needs while around other horses. The color of the ribbon is significant because it tells you what that horse and rider need from other equestrians around them.

• A red ribbon tied to a horse's tail warns other riders and spectators to keep their distance. This horse is known to kick. 
• A red ribbon on a horse's forelock or browband indicates the horse may be "horse shy". This means the horse may object to being cantered straight at.
